My full length collection, ‘The Venus Papers’ will be published by Burning Eye Books in 2015. Amongst other things I’m currently very interested in ghosts and zombies.

Other examples:

A poem about Genocide, featuring cows and how to say ‘I love you’ in Rwandan.
A sonnet about how snails are actually refugees from Italy.

Once, a poem called ‘The Table of Longing’ was made into an actual table, by an architect studying at the University of Columbia. One of his drawings for it is at the bottom of this post.

Previous commissions include: ‘Freedom Showcase’ (a theatre production marking the 200th anniversary since the abolition of transatlantic slavery) and the Apples and Snakes, ‘All Stars’ and ‘Beyond Words’ tours. This latter took place in 2009 and was a tour of 4 South African poets. It included Keorapetse Kgositsile, the South African Poet Laureate. The piece I wrote examined South Africa’s recent history. It’s called ‘Tawanda’ and can also be found this blog.

My father is half Hungarian. I recently visited Budapest.

My mother is Welsh but I only know a nursery rhyme in the language.

I will recite it and other poetry with very little encouragement.
